Scratch built Ryan STA all balsa covered “old school” with Sig Koverall and epoxy paint. Mothballed in 1997 with a low time FA-50. Brought out of storage in 2017. Replaced tank and fuel lines, engine not touched. Replaced the battery with a fresh Panasonic NiCad pack. Started easily, ran and flew well. Nice plane but the LG is not tolerant of rough fields!

About four weeks later. Trial assembly. Entire assembly had been stripped down. Tube frame polished and nickel plated engine and bits sent to paint.

Moving along, Moon style hubcaps turned from 8 inch slabs of aluminum bar. The three intake runners welded up from 1/4” aluminum plate, as well as the large, aluminum plenum sitting on top. Totally polished to finish.
