Upper hull magnets. Magnets are 10mm diameter M3 countersunk N52. Keep in mind if you use countersunk magnets you need to have both north and south polarities to work together.

The six magnets are so strong you can pick up the tank by the upper hull and it will stay together despite the metal wheels/tracks/sprockets.

Second mod: Primed tracks, sprockets, and wheels with black SEM acid etch primer. Painted tracks, sprockets, and wheels. Found that AK Interactive paint AK-030 4BO Dark Base was a near perfect match for the HL paint color.

Bushing installed in the metal idler. Bushing needed to be bored to 7mm to accept the new idler shaft.

Due to how far the brace sticks out I had to remove part of the sprocket hub. I removed the brass bushing from the plastic sprocket and bored the idler to 8mm on my lathe to accept the brass bushing. I may fit bearings later, but the bushing is fine for now.

The area in the triangle was flattened and two 2mm holes were drilled using the brace as a guide to drill.

Once the idler is removed there is a small barrel like piece glued in the circle that must be removed. I just pried it off with a flathead screwdriver.

I wouldn't personally mount the wheel there because that is where one of the water or fuel cans typically sits, but that's just me. That on the extended bustle rack which the Tamiya kit doesn't have anyway.

Better shot of the Maxxpro door. Both the vehicle and door hinges are made from PE with metal pins. I was able to straighten the PE and re-install the pins.

Just as they were removed from the retail packaging. The M-ATV doors were both broken off, the Maxxpro passenger door was off, and there was a small rectangular piece of plastic floating around in the M-ATV box. I didn't find out what it went to until later.
