Getting ready to solder an XT90 female connector to 10 gage silicone wire. The ends of the wire have been tinned. The connector has a very small +/- sign indicating polarity, don't get this wrong or you'll hate yourself in the morning!

I now have a perfect length extension with one end XT90 connector (for motor) and the other EC5 (for battery).

Heat was applied to the brass connector and the solder melted to make a firm connection. The same was done to the positive side, be sure to slip the wire through the yellow cap before soldering.

Another mistake I see builders making is they lay their tape on its side on their table. The side of the tape has stickiness to it and it will pick-up all the crap off their table and then they lay their tape on their model. Well you can guess what happens. Get yourself a tape dispenser to rid yourself of that problem. You can see my tape dispenser holds the original and delicate versions of tape.

Yesterdays post I had causally mentioned that I like to use 3M vinyl tape as well as the blue painters tape. Did you know that these tapes come in different adhesive strengths? Anytime I use tape that will come in contact with a recently painted surface, I use the "delicate" tape which has will remove easier than the original kind. Look inside of your roll to find out what type you have.
